On Being Nerdy: Guest Appearance by My Girlfriend
Her: [playing Super Mario 3] Does it bother you that I'm not as nerdy as you?
Me: What do you mean? You're playing old video games with me.
Her: I know. But I am not as nerdy as you. I haven't read certain comic books you like, and I haven't seen all the TV shows you like.
Me: That's true. But there's a difference between not being into that stuff, and just having not seen or read it.
Her: That's true.
Me: For instance, there's a difference between you refusing to watch "Battlestar Galactica," and having simply not seen it yet. At least you're willing to let me expose you to it, and watch it with me. I love that.
Her: But what if I don't like "Battlestar Galactica?"
Me: Not possible.
